Vintage Hagi Ware Small Tea Cups – Set of Four

A set of four small vintage Hagi ware tea cups, finished in a soft lavender-pink glaze with warm earthy edges and delicate crazing. Each cup has a gently irregular, flower-like rim and subtle variations in glaze and form.

The fine crazing visible throughout the glaze is characteristic of Hagi ware and is not considered damage. With use, tea may gradually settle into these lines, creating subtle changes in colour and character over time—a prized quality traditionally known as the “seven transformations of Hagi.”

Traditionally suited to sencha and other Japanese teas, their petite size also makes them lovely for serving sake.
