Kamonasu Hand-Painted Japanese Hemp Noren

A beautiful Japanese noren made from 100% natural hemp, featuring a hand-painted illustration of Kamo nasu, a traditional variety of Japanese eggplant originating from Kyoto.

Both the eggplant illustration and the accompanying kamonasu lettering have been painted by hand in sumi ink, using traditional Japanese brushwork. The expressive, organic strokes contrast beautifully with the rustic texture of the natural hemp, giving this piece a charming, understated character.

Traditionally hung in Japanese doorways to gently divide spaces, noren can also be displayed as decorative wall hangings. This piece would make a lovely addition to a kitchen or dining space.
