Violet Noren - Japanese Handwoven Hemp Noren

A beautiful Japanese noren crafted from natural hemp, featuring a gradient that transitions from warm, undyed ivory to a rich, deep violet.

Woven in a traditional kihira-asa (生平麻) style, the fabric has a wonderfully rustic, open texture, with the natural irregularities of hemp adding depth and character. The gradual shift in colour highlights the beauty of the weave. 

Traditionally hung in Japanese doorways to gently divide spaces while allowing light and air to pass through, noren can also be displayed as decorative wall hangings. Its understated design sits beautifully in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
