Vintage Japanese Round Stainless Steel Kenzan in Original Box
This vintage round stainless-steel kenzan appears to be unused old stock, or at least exceptionally well preserved, and remains wrapped inside its original box. The box itself is heavily aged, with visible discolouration, fraying and general wear from long-term storage.
The original label reads:
Size/model: No. 35, equal to 10.5 cm in diameter, with the spiked area measuring approximately 10 cm across and weighing just under 1kg.
Type: naga-ashi or “long-foot”
Specification: stainless steel
The naga-ashi design has a raised or longer-footed base, providing additional clearance within the flower vessel. No. 35 corresponds to approximately 10.5 cm in diameter. This estimate is based on comparable Japanese kenzan sizing.
A substantial piece of traditional Japanese ikebana equipment, suitable for securing flowers, stems, and branches in larger arrangements.
