Vintage Japanese Large Flower Vase by Mori Shinsen
A vintage Bizen ware flower vase by Japanese potter Mori Shinsen, presented with its original wooden storage box and paper insert.
The vase is ideal for a single branch, seasonal flowers, or an ikebana-style display. The vase's surface is subtly marbled, with ash effects and a textured surface.
Bizen ware is one of Japan’s oldest ceramic traditions, known for its unglazed high-fired stoneware and natural firing. Rather than relying on applied decoration, each piece is shaped by clay, flame, ash, and kiln atmosphere, resulting in a unique surface.
The accompanying paper identifies the piece as Bizen ware and the potter as Mori Shinsen.
