Vintage Japanese Lacquerware Jubako (lunch box) – Black & gold

Vintage Japanese jubako (重箱), traditionally used for serving food during celebrations, seasonal gatherings, and special occasions.

The two-tiered box features a glossy black exterior contrasted by a rich vermilion-red interior, decorated with delicate gold shōchikubai (松竹梅) motifs of pine, bamboo and plum. One tier includes a removable divider, allowing different dishes, sweets or small accompaniments to be served separately.

Complete with its original storage box.

A beautiful piece of traditional Japanese tableware that can be used for serving osechi, shared dishes, sweets and seasonal meals, or simply displayed when not in use.
