Vintage Japanese Handwoven Hemp/Ramie Noren

A beautiful vintage Japanese noren, handwoven from a natural bast fibre believed to be hemp or ramie. The two panels have been joined and finished by hand, with visible hand stitching and subtle irregularities throughout the weave. Natural variations in the fibres give the cloth a beautifully textured, organic appearance. Finished with a softly hand-dyed olive green gradient.

Condition: Excellent vintage condition with only light signs of age and wear. Subtle irregularities throughout the weave and hand stitching are consistent with its handmade construction.
